The Point Villas, completed November 2002, are situated at Whakamoenga Point,
an exclusive private residential estate on the shores of Lake Taupo and only 10 minutes'
drive from central Taupo.

Taupo and beyond to the scenic mountains of Ruapehu, Tongariro, Ngauruhoe and Pihanga.

This
is a dream year-round destination for trout fishing and boating, with the lake just a few
minutes' walk from the Villas. As described in Style magazine, "Whakamoenga Point
...is renowned as a favourite and prosperous fishing spot, both by fly fisherman and commercial
operators. During the spring the water is so clear that when the smelt rise to shallow waters,
you can almost touch the trout, although more conventional methods are probably more productive."
Carefully positioned amongst the native trees surrounding the lake edge to maintain the
natural growth as a screen to neighbours, the Villas capture sweeping views of beautiful
Mine Bay. The large bedrooms open into glorious Italian travertine stone and double-glazed
glass bathrooms. These give an exhilarating sense of showering or bathing outdoors in the
seclusion of the NZ native bush.
The
two Villas are available to individuals or groups for their exclusive use. Guests may totally
relax and capture the ultimate holiday experience within the spacious interiors (1900 square
feet each), cleverly designed to blend with the natural surroundings, giving a feeling
of space and privacy. The Villas are elegantly furnished with antique oak furniture and
seagrass leather lounge suites, each with two bedrooms with ensuites, large living/dining
areas, plus beautifully-appointed kitchen and full laundry.
Villa One (lower position closest to lake)
Entry to Villa One is down through the solid exterior wall to a large living
room that opens completely to the sun, lake and out onto decks perched in the treetops.
The spacious bedrooms and bathrooms are positioned on either side of the living area
to open to the trees and bay beyond.
Villa Two has a large living room that opens up to an outdoor terraced and
lawn living area, swimming pool and native trees.
The bedroom and ensuite on the main floor enjoys afternoon sun and lake views, while
the upstairs bedroom has glimpses of the mountains in one direction and lake views in the
other.
Villa One’s large living area faces the lake and extends out to a terrace and deck with views across the lake. The spacious bedrooms and bathrooms are positioned on either side of the living area and open out onto the forest and the bay beyond. Its sunny aspect creates a warm and friendly environment.
Villa Two’s large living room extends outdoors to a terrace, lawn and swimming pool. The bedroom and ensuite on the main ground floor enjoy afternoon sun and a glimpse of the lake whilst the upstairs bedroom has wider views of the lake and mountain range to the south.
Inclusions:
*Includes 12.5% government taxes (GST), based on Villa occupancy with maximum occupancy per Villa, 4 persons. A long stay discount may be available for stays 5 nights or more. Minimum stay: The Point Villa's have a two day minimum stay, excepting the Christmas / New Year period 20th December to 5th January when the minimum stay is 3 days Child policy: Children are welcome at the Point Villa's. Although the pool is fully fenced it is required that children are accompanied by an adult at all times. Two portable collapsible cots are available for the children under the age of three, please advise if required at time of booking Rate inclusions: Arrangements can be made for any extra activities required, this includes private Chef, Guides, Golfing tours, Lake trips (please enquire at time of reservation request) Transfers: Airport transfers can be made by arrangement Check-in/Check-out: Guests will be met at the Point Villa's by the on-site manager, who will help to familiarise guests with the villas. Check-in is after 3pm unless by arrangement. Check-out for the Villa's is 11am
Cancellation Policy:
As Point Villa's is an exclusive use property, late cancellations have a significant impact. In the event they are unable to replace a cancelled booking within 30-14 days of the arrival, a 25% charge of the total booking value will apply. Cancellations made within 14 days of arrival will incur a charge equivalent to 100% of nights booked. In the event they are unable to replace a booking, the Christmas / New Year period will incur a 50% cancellation charge on the total booking value for cancellations within 60 days of booking and 100% within 30 days. We recommend travel insurance is built into travel arrangements to cover the unexpected.
